වකුගඩු ගල් සතියෙන් දියකරමුද -How to stop stress from damaging your health

Whether you spend most of your days at work, at school or looking after the home, is a daily occurrence for most of us. Sometimes stress can be good for us; it can help us to perform at our best during a job interview or when giving a presentation; but too much stress for a long period of time is anything but good for us.

Stress is entirely natural, and occurs when our body releases the hormones adrenaline and cortisol when we feel under pressure. In the days of our ancient ancestors, this was our "fight or flight" response when in danger. While we may not have to worry about predators anymore, we still face a number of other challenges, such as bills and deadlines as we go about our day. This means our "fight or flight" mode is still needed, but if it is engaged for long periods of time, it can have serious consequences for our health.
